Pentecost in the Brine Spa Town

The Pfingstlaube Bad Rothenfelde is one of the oldest folk festivals in the municipality on the southern Teutoburg Forest. Its tradition dates back a long way and is deeply rooted in local customs. For generations, the Palsterkamp on the western edge of town on Bahnhofstraße has been the venue — a central festival site that becomes a stage at Pentecost.

Three Days of Pentecost Fair

The 2026 edition runs from Saturday, May 23, to Whit Monday, May 25. For three days, the Palsterkamp transforms into a traditional fair scene with rides, stalls, and a festival tent.

Classic Fair Programme

As is customary for a North German Pentecost fair, the core offerings include carousels, dodgems, children's rides, shooting galleries, and skill games. Food stalls offer bratwurst, fries, crêpes, candied almonds, and cotton candy. The festival tent provides refreshments with beer and hearty cuisine.

Family Festival and Meeting Place

The Pfingstlaube is a family festival: Youngest visitors enjoy the children's rides, teenagers meet at the dodgems, and adults and seniors come for socialising in the festival tent. This makes the Pfingstlaube a classic meeting place for generations.

Bad Rothenfelde — Salt and Tradition

Bad Rothenfelde is a state-recognized brine spa town and an important health resort in the Osnabrück region. The two graduation towers shape the town's skyline. Along with the medieval market, salt market, rose season, phylloxera festival, and local heritage festival, the Pfingstlaube is part of a dense annual festival calendar.
