Garden fair to kick off spring with around 80 exhibitors at Messe Cottbus
With around 100,000 inhabitants, Cottbus is Brandenburg's second-largest city and the economic and cultural center of Niederlausitz. Messe Cottbus on Vorparkstraße in the Sandow district is the venue for many supra-regional trade fairs and events. In March, the hall is dedicated entirely to gardens — Gartenträume Cottbus is the largest spring garden fair in the region.
Gartenträume is an established trade fair series held at various locations throughout Germany. In Cottbus, the fair has been a firm fixture in the spring calendar for years, filling the hall with around 80 exhibitors from the fields of plants, garden furniture, decoration, care products, tools, water features, sustainability, and smart garden technology. The claim: "Present the future of the green industry.".
Direct plant sellers (perennials, roses, shrubs, bulbs, seeds), garden furniture and outdoor living providers (lounge furniture, pergolas, parasols), specialists for water features (ponds, fountains, irrigation), sustainability (organic seeds, bee hotels, raised beds), tool and machine manufacturers, and a dedicated family area for children. The organizers also promote a new botanical tour as a highlight for 2026.
The star of the supporting program is René Wadas, a qualified gardener born in Brandenburg and known for years as the "Plant Doctor" on NDR and TV shows. He will lead the botanical tour through the fair, offering tips on plant care, 2026 trends, and pest control. For garden fans from the Lausitz region and Berlin, this is one of the few opportunities of the year to experience Wadas live.
The fair is open daily from 10 am to 6 pm. Admission is €9 (online in advance €8). Family package (2 adults + 2 children) €18 (online €16). Children aged 4 to 16 pay €1. Cottbus is directly accessible by RE2 / RE10 from Berlin and from Leipzig; the exhibition hall is located in the Sandow district and is connected by tram and bus.
From March 6th to 8th, 2026, the spring garden fair Gartenträume Cottbus 2026 will take place at Messe Cottbus.
Around 80 exhibitors will bring together plants, garden furniture, decorations, care products, tools, water feature specialties, and sustainability topics under one roof. The highlight of the supporting program is the new botanical tour with TV plant doctor René Wadas, who will present 2026 trends and answer questions from the audience.
