Four Days of Holiday Communism on the Old Airfield
Fusion is not a classic open-air event. On the vast grounds of the former NVA Müritz Airpark military airfield in Lärz, a unique city with its own rules emerges every year for five days. Around 70,000 people live, dance, sleep, cook, and discuss together – without major brand logos, without headliner hierarchies, and with a consistently non-commercial attitude. Kulturkosmos Müritz e.V. has been organizing the festival since 1997 as a large-scale event supported by volunteers.
Over seventy stages and floors are spread across the site: for techno, house, trance, drum'n'bass, but also for bands, theater, performance, cinema, readings, workshops, political discussions, yoga sessions, circus, and experimental sound art. The entire spectrum of electronic music meets performing arts and political education here. Characteristic: The lineup is traditionally published only shortly before the festival – or not at all. Those who come, come for the experience, not for a specific headliner.
Lärz is a community of 600 inhabitants in the Mecklenburg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, directly on the Müritz, the largest lake in Northern Germany. The former military airfield with its runways, hangars, and bunkers offers a unique backdrop for the festival. Outside of the festival season, Kulturkosmos also uses the grounds for other events such as the at.tension theater festival.
Kulturkosmos has announced a seasonal break in 2027. Both Fusion and at.tension will not take place that year – the team wants to gain time for long-term projects and political reflection. Both festivals will return in 2028.
The 27th edition of Fusion runs from Wednesday, June 24, 2026 (arrival) to Sunday, June 28, 2026. Around 70,000 visitors are expected again on the 220-hectare Müritz Airpark site. Over seventy stages, stages, and floors will be active across the entire site around the clock. As always, the lineup is deliberately kept secret by Kulturkosmos – part of the concept. The Sunday ticket, which only includes the festival finale, is available from €65 through the pre-sale. Full ticket allocation exclusively by lottery. With this edition, Kulturkosmos bids farewell to its last season before the announced break in 2027.
The complete program will be published – if at all – only shortly before the festival. Updates on fusion-festival.de.
