24th Fun-Kicker Tournament in Bleckede — Giant Kicker for clubs, companies, and hobby teams
A giant kicker is the oversized version of a classic table football game. Instead of operating each rod with one hand, each player takes control of a single rod and moves it along the width of the playing field. Typically, 4 or 6 people play per team simultaneously, making a game a real team effort. The game rules follow classic table football, but are deliberately low-threshold — anyone who has never played giant kicker can quickly get into it. This combination of surprisingly dynamic gameplay and a low barrier to entry makes the giant kicker an ideal format for Volksfest tournaments.
The tournament is open to everyone: hobby teams, club teams, company teams, family associations, groups of friends. Several giant kicker tables are set up in parallel, allowing multiple games to run simultaneously. The tournament mode follows a group and knockout system with subsequent placement matches. The exact participation conditions, registration procedures, and entry fees will be published by the organizing committee in advance. Experience shows that starting spots fill up quickly — early registration is recommended.
A festival area is set up around the kicker stations with a stage, catering, seating, and live music or a DJ. Food and drinks are served from several counters — from grilled items and vegetarian specialties to ice cream and coffee. Those who are not playing themselves can follow the games as spectators — the atmosphere is reminiscent of family festivals with a sporting accent. The tournament often continues into the late evening.
The tournament has been held annually since 2002, making it a fixture in Bleckede's event calendar. With 24 editions, the format has established itself as a trademark of the town — many teams participate regularly and plan their summer activities around the tournament date. The organizers are the Bleckede Event Association with the support of the City of Bleckede.
The tournament day begins in the morning with registration and group draws. Preliminary round matches fill the early afternoon, followed by knockout rounds in the late afternoon and finals for placings in the evening. In parallel, the festival area with catering and music is open throughout — even those not playing have an entertaining day in a summery, popular atmosphere. The tournament often continues into the late evening.
The detailed program for 2026 will be published in advance by the organizing committee. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years:
