While the real Munich Oktoberfest doesn't take place on the outskirts of Friedeburg – the desire for a festival tent, traditional costume, a Maß (liter) of beer, and Bavarian brass music is also felt in the North. For five years now, the Friedeburg Oktoberfest has brought this festival tradition to East Frisia. The 5th edition will be celebrated in 2026 – the format has become established.

When is the Friedeburg Oktoberfest 2026?

The exact date for 2026 will be published by the organizer in late summer. Historically, the date falls on the last weekend in October – probably Saturday, October 24, 2026. This is a day when the Munich Wiesn has long since ended – the Friedeburg counterpart thus extends the Oktoberfest season into the East Frisian province.

Schützenplatz Friedeburg – A Practical Location

The venue is the Schützenplatz Friedeburg, which is also used for the Schützenfest (marksmen's festival) in August. The infrastructure is proven: electricity, water, space for a festival tent – everything is available. This makes the Schützenplatz a practical location that supports the format.
