A Stage with Character
For years, the Freilichtbühne in Beelitz Stadtpark has been one of the most important open-air venues in southern Brandenburg. Nestled in the town park of the renowned asparagus city, it offers an intimate stage atmosphere with fixed seating and very good acoustics. The 2026 programme brings together German Schlager, pop, and rock stars as well as international acts — with a clear focus on music from the 70s to the 90s.
Karat Kicks Off the Season
The summer series kicks off on July 4th, 2026, with a concert by Karat — the legendary band from GDR rock history, known for songs like „Über sieben Brücken“ (Over Seven Bridges). The concert has been sold out for weeks. A week later, on July 11th, the big 80s/90s Gala follows with Sandra, Loona, and Culture Beat — three names that represent an entire era of Eurodance and Synthpop. Johnny Logan, a two-time Eurovision winner, will give a concert with his band on July 17th.
Schürzenjäger, Egerländer, and Peter Alexander
August 2026 at the Freilichtbühne Beelitz is dedicated to Schlager and folk music fans: Schürzenjäger and Egerländer Musikanten will bring Alpine sounds to the town park, and a two-day Peter Alexander anniversary show on August 8th and 9th will honour one of the greatest entertainers of German-language Schlager. In September, the “Beelitz Metalstätten” follow — a growing series with harder sounds that adds an unusual accent to the programme.
Beelitz — More Than Just Asparagus
Beelitz is known beyond the region for its asparagus and for the Beelitz-Heilstätten, the famous sanatorium complex northeast of the city. The historic town centre with St. Marien and Nikolai churches, the market square, and the asparagus farms are worth a day trip. Those planning to attend a concert at the Freilichtbühne can combine the day with an asparagus meal (April–June) or a tour of the Heilstätten.
