1250 Years of Framersheim – An Anniversary Year
Framersheim was first documented in the 8th century and in 2026 celebrates its 1250th birthday as a historically proven wine village. This remarkable anniversary is the occasion for a whole series of events, the highlight of which is the inauguration of the Historic Circular Trail on May 30, 2026. The village is located in the Alzey-Worms district, in the Alzey-Land association of municipalities, and is one of the oldest documented wine villages in Rhenish Hesse.
The Historic Circular Trail
The new Historic Circular Trail leads through the village center of Framersheim and connects the most important historical sites of the village: the old church, the former town hall, traditional farms, wells, and squares with special history. Information boards along the trail provide information about the respective stations and offer an insight into 1250 years of village history: from its early medieval founding, through its affiliation with the Electorate of Mainz, the Napoleonic era, to the present day as a modern wine-growing village.
Wines, Tapas & More – The Wine Evening
Following the official inauguration of the information boards, the village center transforms into a relaxed festival mile. The Framersheim vintners will be serving their own wines, complemented by tapas and small dishes – a deliberate nod to Mediterranean cuisine, fitting the relaxed atmosphere of a warm summer evening. The "Wines, Tapas & More" concept is a proven format in Rhenish Hesse, combining classic wine service with the enjoyment of a tapas bar.
A Format for the Whole Family
The inauguration of the circular trail is designed as a family event. Children can experience the circular trail as a treasure hunt, adults can learn interesting facts about the village history, and in the evening, wine and tapas provide for casual get-togethers. The festival is simultaneously a tribute to local history research and a statement for the Framersheim residents' connection to their history.
Framersheim Trail & Wine — edition 2026
The 2026 program will be published by the organizer in spring. The structure:
- 1:00 PM: Official inauguration ceremony of the Historic Circular Trail with welcome by the local council, presentation of the concept by local historians.
- 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Guided tours along the new information boards, free exploration of the circular trail.
- from 5:00 PM: Wines, Tapas & More – Wine service by Framersheim vintners with Mediterranean dishes in the village center.
- in the evening: Musical accompaniment, cozy get-together until late.

A 61 exit Gundersheim, then approx. 5 km to Framersheim. Parking available on the outskirts of the village.
Getting there by public transport
Alzey train station, then take bus 414 to Framersheim.
