29th Floriansfest Stuttgart-Vaihingen — Fire Brigade and District Celebrate Together

In May 2026, the Stuttgart-Vaihingen Volunteer Fire Brigade Department will celebrate its traditional Floriansfest for the 29th time. Named after Saint Florian, the patron saint of fire brigades, the Floriansfest has been an integral part of the Vaihingen event calendar for almost three decades. For two days, you will experience a classic district festival where the firefighters themselves become hosts, presenting their voluntary commitment to the Vaihingen public.

Fire Station on Bachstraße — The Festival Grounds

The venue is the Stuttgart-Vaihingen Fire Station at Bachstraße 6, in the heart of the district. The festival tent, beer benches, food stalls, and the vehicle exhibition will be set up around the building. Part of the vehicle exhibition will take place on the square in front of the Schwabengalerie — right in the Vaihingen center, clearly visible to passers-by and visitors to the shopping center.

Demonstrations and Hands-on Program

The highlight for many families: the demonstrations by the emergency services. On Sunday afternoon at 4 PM, the Vaihingen Department's fire engine company, together with the DRK Vaihingen (German Red Cross), will demonstrate a rescue after a simulated traffic accident — a patient-oriented extrication from a cut-up car, cooperation between the fire brigade and emergency medical services. Impressive and educational. In addition, there will be a vehicle exhibition throughout the weekend with fire engines, a turntable ladder, and historical equipment, a quiz for children, a mini obstacle course for junior firefighters, and information stands on fire safety in the home.

Catering and Atmosphere

The festival tent is run by the fire brigade itself and friendly Vaihingen clubs. You will find Swabian specialties here — grilled bratwurst, steaks, fries, Maultaschen, Käsespätzle, salads, plus coffee and cake in the afternoon. The drinks menu includes draft beer (regional brewery), Swabian wines, mixed wine drinks (Schorle), non-alcoholic beverages, and sparkling wine. Live music and a party band on Saturday evening, traditional morning pint concert (Frühschoppen) on Sunday.
