Flammersfelder August-Kirmes

The Flammersfelder August-Kirmes is one of the most traditional folk festivals (Volksfeste) in northern Rhineland-Palatinate. It takes place annually on the second-to-last weekend of August, shaping late summer in the Wiedtal for generations. The local community of Flammersfeld is the organizer, and together with numerous local clubs, they put on a festival program that garners attention far beyond the Altenkirchen-Flammersfeld administrative district.

A Festival with a Long History

The "Flammersfelder August" has become a household name in the Westerwald. Generations of families plan their summer holidays around this weekend, and former residents of Flammersfeld travel from all over Germany to see friends and relatives again. Festival Tent, Stage, and Fairground

An essential component is the traditional market (Krammarkt), which transforms the entire village center into an extensive shopping and strolling mile.
