About Fiebig Open Air
The Fiebig Grounds
The festival takes place on an approximately 1,500 m² industrial site at Grasmühle 5 in the industrial area of Schöningen. The industrial architecture provides an authentically raw setting for a rock and metal festival, fitting the day's musical profile.
Lacrimas Profundere
With Lacrimas Profundere, the festival brings one of Germany's most established gothic rock bands to Schöningen. Since the 1990s, the Munich-based band has been known for dark, melancholic anthems and a charismatic stage presence.
Dezperadoz and Nitrogods
Dezperadoz from Bochum are pioneers of "Western Metal," blending classic heavy metal with Western sounds and cowboy aesthetics. Nitrogods, a German hard rock supergroup featuring Henny Wolter (Primal Fear, Sinner), deliver straightforward hard rock in the style of the late 70s and early 80s.
Kupfergold and Mysterica
Kupfergold offers modern German hard rock anthems, while Mysterica represents symphonic-influenced metal with female vocals. Both bands contribute to the festival's broad musical spectrum.
Valid Blue
Valid Blue complements the lineup with an alternative indie sound, providing a contrasting element to the heavier program. The festival thus unites diverse tastes under one roof.
Schöningen as a Rock Location
That a town like Schöningen (around 11,000 inhabitants) can host its own open-air festival with national acts is a testament to the local organizers and a loyal community. The Fiebig Open Air exemplifies how volunteer engagement and industrial sites can create their own festival culture.
Warm-Up on the Eve
On the eve of the festival (July 17, 2026), the grounds will open for the Fiebig Open Air Schlager Party – a deliberate contrast evening featuring Schlager cover artist Caro and DJ Nachtpilot. Those attending both evenings will experience two very different musical events.
Fiebig Open Air — edition 2026
The exact order of bands and set lengths will be published by the organizer shortly before the event at fiebig-open-air.de. The structure follows the established benchmarks from previous years:
Admission 4 PM, performances begin at 5 PM with the opening acts. Headliner block in the late evening. Acts typically play for 45–60 minutes, headliners for 75–90 minutes. Changeover times are used for stage setup.
