Village Festival at the Fire Station

Hatshausen is a district of the municipality of Moormerland in the Leer district. The fire station at Hatshauser Straße 12 is the point of contact for the Volunteer Fire Brigade and the venue for the Feuerwehrfest once a year. Unlike a pure fire brigade demonstration festival, the event combines fire brigade demonstrations with a classic village festival format of hospitality, market stalls, and a stage program.

Program and Highlights

The program includes music, catering provided by the fire brigade and local clubs, small market stalls, children's activities, and an evening fireworks display. In the previous year, the festival day was organized as a district fire brigade association festival – an additional sign of the strong integration of the Hatshausen fire brigade within the network of fire brigades in the Leer district.

Community Function

Like many Feuerwehrfeste in rural communities, the festival in Hatshausen has an important community function: it strengthens the bond between the brigade and the population, presents the fire brigade in its dual role as a relief organization and club life, and brings generations together around the fire station.
