Season Start in the Spa Park
The Festival of Lights in Bad Salzelmen Spa Park has marked the start of the open-air season in Schönebeck's spa park since 2001. Bad Salzelmen is a district of Schönebeck (Elbe), a medium-sized town in the Salzlandkreis, about 15 km southeast of Magdeburg. The spa park, with its old brine springs, graduation tower, and sunbathing lawns, is the green heart of the district.
In 2026, the festival enters its 26th edition. Stadtwerke Schönebeck is sponsoring free admission – a municipal gesture that makes the Festival of Lights a meeting point for all generations and social classes.
Program: Stage, Street Food, Fireworks
The Festival of Lights begins at 3:00 PM and runs until midnight. During the day, local clubs – such as the Turngruppe UNION 1861, the dance formations of the Felgelebener Carnevalclub, and the "Boys in Black" – provide a varied stage program. From 7:00 PM, the cover band Ventura Fox takes over with the voice of Antje Reich. The special feature: the setlist is determined by the audience – song requests can be sent to the stage via WhatsApp during the concert.
At 10:00 PM, the festival highlight follows: a fireworks display on the play and sunbathing lawn behind the spa park stage. Music and catering continue until midnight.
"Festival of Lights and Saving Lives"
Accompanying the festival, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, a bone marrow donor registration by Stadtwerke Schönebeck will take place under the motto "Festival of Lights and Saving Lives". Registration is simple, painless, and free – every newly registered donor receives a voucher.
