Festival of Cultures — Leverkusen's Multiculti Fest
The Festival of Cultures in Leverkusen's Neuland-Park is one of the city's most beautiful neighborhood festivals — and a showcase of Leverkusen's cultural diversity. On Sunday, May 31, 2026, the association Inter-Lev e.V. invites you to the annual event. With free admission, migrant self-organizations, associations, and initiatives showcase what their home countries have to offer culturally. Dance, music, food, fashion — a festival that makes the city's international DNA visible.
Guest Country 2026 — Greece
Each year, the festival focuses on a guest country. In 2026, it is Greece — the land of antiquity, islands, Sirtaki sounds, and Mediterranean cuisine. Greek associations, schools, folklore groups, and restaurants will have expanded space on the festival grounds. Expected are:
- Greek folklore groups with traditional dances (Kalamatianos, Sirtaki, Hasapiko)
- Greek live music — Bouzouki, clarinet, vocals
- Greek gastronomy — Souvlaki, Gyros, Pita, Tzatziki, Moussaka
- Information stands of the Greek community in Leverkusen
- Fashion and traditional costumes from various regions of Greece
Inter-Lev e.V. — the association behind the festival
The organizer is Inter-Lev e.V. — the association for the promotion of international encounters in Leverkusen. For years, Inter-Lev has been bringing people of different backgrounds together, organizing language courses, meeting cafés, and integration projects. The Festival of Cultures is its largest public showcase.
What happens every year
Even though Greece is in the spotlight — the festival thrives on diversity. Spread across the festival grounds, associations from numerous countries present their culture:
- Turkish, Kurdish, Arab associations with dance, music, and food
- African diaspora communities with drums, dances, and West African cuisine
- Latin American groups with Salsa, Cumbia, and Peruvian/Colombian cuisine
- Eastern European associations — Polish, Russian, Ukrainian groups
- Asian contributions — Vietnam, Thailand, China, Japan
This makes the festival a walk around the world — on a meadow in Leverkusen's Neuland-Park.
Neuland-Park — the green Rhine park
The venue is Neuland-Park, a city park created for the 2005 State Garden Show, located directly on the Rhine riverbank. With its vast green spaces, the Neulandsee lake, stage areas, and family picnic lawns, it is the ideal festival location. Those coming with children will find a nearby playground, a climbing structure, and large lawns for romping.
Tip — the whole Sunday in the park
Plan for a whole Sunday: Arrive around noon, wander through the stands, try food from several countries, watch a dance program on the main stage, then join the Sirtaki workshop in the afternoon — and wind down with a Pita Gyros in the late evening. Admission is free, the atmosphere is family-friendly and international.
