The 18th edition of Festival am See took place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Waldbühne in Stadtpark Norderstedt. The festival reached a milestone, celebrating its 18th anniversary—a tradition of 18 years of open-air music, diversity, and free admission.

Getting There
Subway line U1 to Norderstedt Mitte, then a 10-minute walk to the Stadtpark. By car via the A7 (exit Schnelsen-Nord).

Seating at the Waldbühne, plus open meadow space. Food stalls on the festival grounds, picnics with blankets are allowed. Weatherproof clothing recommended.
Stadtpark Norderstedt — The Lakeside Stage
With around 80,000 residents, Norderstedt is the fifth-largest city in Schleswig-Holstein, located in the Segeberg district just north of Hamburg. The Stadtpark Norderstedt is one of the largest and most diverse parks in Northern Germany, featuring the Stadtparksee, the Hangwiese, and the Waldbühne as its primary open-air venues. The Waldbühne, a stone amphitheater nestled at the edge of the forest, provides an exceptional acoustic and visual backdrop for concerts.
18 Years of Festival am See
Festival am See has been running since 2009, and the 18th edition in 2026 marked a special milestone. What began as an initiative by the Music-Werkstatt e.V. has become a staple open-air event in the Hamburg metropolitan area, remaining both free of charge and musically ambitious.

Free and Charitable
Festival am See has been free since its inception—a deliberate commitment to cultural participation. Donations are collected on-site to support charitable causes. The organizers, Stadtpark Norderstedt GmbH and Music-Werkstatt e.V., fund the festival through sponsorships, municipal grants, and the Music-Werkstatt's own resources.
