The Fest der Nationen 2026 will be celebrated on Saturday, May 9th, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on the Obere Markt in Lauf an der Pegnitz. The City of Lauf, together with various national groups and associations, invites you to a colorful program of folklore, dance, sports, and music.
Over 30 program items – including dance groups, martial arts demonstrations, and musical acts – as well as culinary specialties from numerous international cuisines make the festival a day of encounter and lived diversity in the heart of Lauf's old town.

Getting there
Take the S-Bahn (S1) from Nuremberg to Lauf (links Pegnitz), then a short walk to the Obere Markt. By car via the A9 or B14.

A symbol for diversity since 1993
The Fest der Nationen in Lauf an der Pegnitz was launched in 1993 as the "Day of Nationalities" – with the clear goal of setting a sign against violence and xenophobia. Over the years, this idea has evolved into one of the best-known multicultural festivals in the Nürnberger Land region.

On the historic Obere Markt, the festival offers a colorful program of folklore, dance, sports, and music. Over 30 program items featuring dance groups, martial arts demonstrations, and musical acts showcase the cultural breadth of the town. Numerous stalls with culinary specialties from various international cuisines invite visitors to indulge.
Supported by the community
The festival is organized by the City of Lauf together with various national groups and associations – including the German-Vietnamese Cultural Association, the Greek Heritage Association, the DITIB Turkish-Islamic Association, various dance studios, sports clubs, and choirs. This broad participation makes the festival a true community event.
Lauf an der Pegnitz – Nürnberger Land District
Lauf an der Pegnitz is the district town of the Nürnberger Land district in the Bavarian administrative region of Middle Franconia, east of Nuremberg. The medieval Obere Markt with its historic ensemble forms the atmospheric backdrop for the festival of encounters.
