Fun run through the 700-year-old Everstener Holz with around 3,000 participants
The Everstener Brunnenlauf is the early summer classic of the Oldenburg running scene. Nestled in the Eversten district and the adjacent Everstener Holz, the run combines proximity to the city, forest atmosphere, and a family-friendly concept.
The start and finish line is the Everstener Brunnen – the run's namesake landmark on Wienstraße / Marktplatz Eversten. The market square transforms into the competition and festival zone, with registration, catering, and award ceremony areas.
The route leads through the Everstener Holz, a historic forest area with about 700 years of history. This forest backdrop makes the run attractive: cool air, shady paths, and the special character of an old forest.
With around 3,000 participants, the Brunnenlauf is one of Oldenburg's most attended fun runs. The high proportion of schoolchildren – about 1,400 – is noteworthy, making the run a true major school sports event.
The organizer is Lauftreff Eversten, which has been organizing the event for over two decades, fostering connections with schools, the district, and the Oldenburg running scene.
Registration is possible via brunnenlauf.de and runme.de. Late registration on the day is possible depending on the distance.
The 2026 edition continues the established format of the fun run. Start times for the individual distances and registration fees will be published in the official announcement.
