European Rowing Under-19 Championships on the Beetzsee Regatta Course — Europe's best U19 talents
The Beetzsee Regatta Course has been a magnet for international rowing and canoe elite for decades. With its 2,000m long, wind-protected course and the excellent infrastructure of the Beetzsee Regatta Team, it is one of the best facilities in Europe. From May 22 to 24, 2026, it will be the venue for the European Rowing Under-19 Championships — the official European Championship for junior rowers.
More than 520 athletes from 33 European nations are expected. It is one of the most important talent platforms in European rowing: many of today's Olympic and World Cup athletes began their international careers at a U19 European Championship. Disciplines include single sculls (1x), double sculls (2x), fours (4x, 4-), and eights (8+) — for both women and men.
Friday, May 22, serves as arrival and training day with the official opening ceremony. Saturday, May 23, will feature the heats and semi-finals — the most exciting day for tactical observers. Sunday, May 24, will host the finals of all disciplines, with award ceremonies and European Championship medals.
Unlike many international sporting events, entry for spectators is free. Catering is available on-site, and the city of Brandenburg invites you to the opening ceremony with accompanying program. Those staying in Brandenburg can easily combine the sporting event with a city visit — the Old Town, Cathedral, and Havel water tours are in close proximity.
The Beetzsee Regatta Course was a training site for the GDR national rowing squad and is now a federal base for the German Rowing Federation. Olympians from Tokyo and Paris trained here. The 2026 U19 European Championship thus continues a long tradition of international competitions at Beetzsee.
Three days of competition on the renowned 2,000m course of Beetzsee. Heats and semi-finals on Saturday, finals on Sunday. Free entry for spectators.
