About Erntefest Schwanewede

The Erntefest Schwanewede is the traditional harvest thanksgiving celebration of the municipality north of the Hanseatic city of Bremen. On the first weekend of October, around the Day of German Unity, the local area transforms into a convivial festival circuit of catering, club life, and the central harvest festival parade with decorated floats. Organized by the Schwanewede Rifle Association and with the participation of numerous local clubs – including the Hinnebeck women's team, which has attracted attention in recent years with its own float constructions – the Erntefest brings together agricultural customs and modern club life. Residents from Schwanewede, the neighboring municipalities of Ritterhude and Lemwerder, and from Bremen regularly attend the festival.
