Four weekends of music, comedy, and family entertainment in the Weiherpark in Kraichgau
The Eppingen Festival Summer first kicked off in 2024 — an initiative by the city of Eppingen to give the Weiherpark a curated festival series. In 2026, the Festival Summer will celebrate its 3rd edition. Instead of a single weekend with large crowds, the program is spread over four extended weekends in August — allowing for a more relaxed, higher-quality experience. You can specifically choose individual evenings that suit your taste.
The heart of the Festival Summer is the 'Kraichgauhelden' series — a format that gives regional bands a big stage. Through a public online vote, the Eppingen audience selects two bands from a shortlist to open and close the Festival Summer. In 2026, these are FATE (Aug 6th) and Evermind (Aug 27th) — both from Kraichgau, both with a local fan base, and with the chance to play for an audience of 1,000.
On August 8th, 'Viergewinnt' takes the stage, a tribute to Die Fantastischen Vier — performed by musicians who authentically interpret the Stuttgart combo's hip-hop heritage. On August 22nd, Udonaut & die Paniker present their mix of songwriting and rock. The glamorous finale on August 28th is an Eros Ramazzotti tribute — Italian pop hits with fun and atmosphere.
On August 19th, a comedy night entertains, presented in cooperation with SHURE Europe. The exact lineup will be announced in spring 2026 — experience suggests established stand-up acts from German-speaking countries will be featured.
For the little ones, there are two children's concerts: on August 8th, 'Kleine Hexe' (based on Otfried Preußler) and on August 15th, 'Dschungel Bande'. Both concerts are staged in a family-friendly manner, encouraging children to participate, dance, and sing.
The Weiherpark Eppingen is an idyllic park with old trees, a large meadow, a pond, and a pavilion. The acoustics are excellent, and the atmosphere is familiar. Catering is provided by Helgets (ice cream), ARAS Bar (cocktails), the Weiherbistro (burgers, sausages), and the Freunde des Bürgerparks (regional specialties).
The 3rd edition of the Festival Summer is spread over four extended weekends from August 6th to 29th, 2026. The opening act is the 'Kraichgauhelden' series with FATE on August 6th. This is followed by children's concerts and tribute shows in the subsequent weeks. The finale features Evermind (Aug 27th) as the second Kraichgauhelden band and the Eros Ramazzotti tribute (Aug 28th).
Several local partners are permanently present: Helgets provides ice cream and cold refreshments, ARAS Bar mixes cocktails and exotic drinks, the Weiherbistro serves classic festival fare (burgers, sausages, fries), and Freunde des Bürgerparks offers regional specialties from Kraichgau.
