Neighborhood music through 16 venues in Köln-Dünnwald — one ticket, all concerts
The Dünnwalder Musiknacht is a format that could only have originated in Cologne: an entire district transforms into a walkable concert stage for one night. Ice cream parlors, pharmacies, cooperative banks, cafés, and schools open their doors, allow stages to be set up, and host local and nationally known musicians. In 2026, the 8th edition will take place on Saturday, May 9th, from 8:00 PM to 12:00 AM.
The recipe for success: a single wristband for €10 grants access to all 16 venues. Children and young people up to 12 years old are free. The wristbands are available at several points of sale along Berliner Straße — cash payment is required on-site. A tractor shuttle connects the venues and ensures the typically relaxed atmosphere.
The organizers have once again curated a broadly diverse program for 2026. Already confirmed:
From Latin Pop and Funk to Kölsch dialect and Tango Argentino, to Indie Rock and Classical: the diversity of styles is one of the hallmarks. A total of 16 venues are planned — visitors will receive a complete mapping overview when purchasing tickets.
Dünnwald is a district in Cologne's Mülheim borough, located in the north of the Rhine's right bank. With the Dünnwald Wildlife Park, one of the city's oldest and most beautiful recreational areas, the district is valued by Cologne residents as a green lung. The main axis, Berliner Straße, forms the urban backbone of the neighborhood and thus the natural festival grounds of the Musiknacht.
With KVB: Line 4 (light rail) to the "Dünnwald Berliner Straße" stop. By car via the A3 (exit Köln-Mülheim-Nord) or the A1 (exit Leverkusen-Zentrum). On festival evenings, Berliner Straße is partially traffic-calmed — public transport is the much more relaxed option.
What sets the Dünnwalder Musiknacht apart from larger festivals: proximity. The concerts take place in rooms with 30 to 150 seats, the audience knows each other, and the musicians join the bar for a beer after their set. It's neighborhood culture in the best sense — and one of the most beautiful proofs that Cologne has more than just a city center.
Four hours of neighborhood music through 16 venues in Dünnwald: Jazz, Tango, Kölsch music, Indie, Blues, and World Pop. One wristband for €10, free switching between concerts, shuttle service by tractor between stations.
A total of 16 venues — further locations and acts along Berliner Straße. Complete overview when purchasing tickets.
