Season finale of DTM and ADAC GT Masters at the Hockenheimring — three days of motorsport spectacle
The Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg has been closely associated with DTM since 1984 — as the home race track of the German Touring Car Championship. The season finale at the Hockenheimring has long been the most spectacular date in the DTM calendar: the championship is decided here, and fans of the GT3 class celebrate one of the highlights of the European motorsport summer. In 2026, the finale will take place from October 9th to 11th.
The venue is the Grand Prix circuit of the Hockenheimring — 4.5 kilometers of asphalt, one of the most famous race tracks in Europe. Until 2019, the Hockenheimring alternated with the Nürburgring in hosting the German Formula 1 Grand Prix. Today, the track is fully booked for DTM, ADAC GT Masters, Truck Grand Prix, Touring Car Championship, and numerous international series. The Motodrom with its massive grandstands can accommodate over 100,000 spectators.
DTM and ADAC GT Masters share the weekend — both series will race their season finale concurrently on the same race weekend. The 2026 DTM format: Two one-hour races per weekend (Saturday and Sunday), with one mandatory pit stop on Saturday and two mandatory pit stops on Sunday. A maximum of six mechanics are allowed to work during the pit stop — the pit crews compete for the fastest tire changes. More than 20 GT3 race cars from eight manufacturers are on the starting grid.
Hockenheim (Rhein-Neckar district, AGS 08226, approx. 22,000 inhabitants) is located in the Upper Rhine Plain between Mannheim and Heidelberg. The small town is world-famous for its Hockenheimring — one of the most renowned race tracks in Europe. The Hockenheimring is not just a motorsport venue but also a cultural brand: concerts, trade fairs, tourist drives (own car rental), driver training, and manufacturer test tracks make the ring an all-year-round location.
From Friday, October 9th, to Sunday, October 11th, 2026, DTM will race its final races of the season on the traditional Grand Prix circuit of the Hockenheimring — together with ADAC GT Masters on the same weekend. Over 20 GT3 race cars from eight manufacturers will compete for the 2026 championship.
The Lamborghini Temerario GT3 debuts in DTM 2026 with four cars — two from Grasser Racing, two from Abt Sportsline. The defending champion Mercedes-AMG brings four cars, Porsche fields three 911 GT3-Rs from Manthey EMA and Land-Motorsport. In addition, there are BMW M4 GT3, Ford Mustang GT3, McLaren 720S GT3 Evo, Aston Martin Vantage GT3, and Ferrari 296 GT3. The driver field includes three former DTM champions as well as drivers from nine nations — including Timo Glock (Formula 1 and IndyCar veteran) and the reigning 2024 champion Mirko Bortolotti.
