Dortmunder Oktoberfest — Wiesn atmosphere in the Ruhr area

The Dortmunder Oktoberfest is Westphalia's answer to the Munich Wiesn. From September 25 to October 17, 2026, the event at Revierpark Wischlingen will be known as the "Dortmunder Wiesen" — featuring a large, Bavarian-style decorated festival tent with 4,000 seats, which is heated and offers autumnal Wiesn ambiance in the Ruhr region for three weeks.

Dortmunder Kronen Festbier — the exclusive brew

The beer highlight is the exclusive Dortmunder Kronen Festbier — a Bavarian Festbier specialty brewed in the traditional Dortmunder Kronen brewery (now a brand heritage of Dortmund's brewing history). This gives the Dortmunder Wiesn its own beer identity — unlike other Oktoberfests outside Bavaria, which mostly serve Munich brands.

2026 Programme — Live Acts from the Schlager Scene

In 2026, the most famous Mallorca Schlager stars and Wiesn acts will perform on the festival tent stage:

  • Mickie Krause — Wiesn veteran and Schlager star
  • Stereoact — Duo from Saxony
  • Lorenz Büffel — Mallorca Schlager star
  • Isi Glück — Mallorca singer
  • + a surprise artist

Every evening, Münchner G'schichten performs — a Bavarian rock band from Munich that brings authentic Wiesn atmosphere to the tent.

Festival Tent Atmosphere

The festival tent is heated and equipped with the following elements:

  • Central stage visible from all seating areas
  • Ceiling decorations with fabrics and fairy lights
  • Wooden pergolas in the group boxes
  • Alpine panorama mural on the south wall
  • Bistro "Tante Amanda" with freshly prepared traditional Bavarian dishes (pretzels, roast chicken, pork knuckle, white sausage, Obatzda)

Dress Code — Traditional attire welcome

The Dortmunder Oktoberfest emphasizes traditional Bavarian attire or a Bavarian clothing statement. Classic Lederhosen/Dirndl are as welcome as the simpler "Bavarian shirt + jeans." While those arriving in regular clothing won't be turned away, they might feel out of place. Several providers in Dortmund now offer traditional costume rentals.

Oktoberfest Tradition outside Bavaria

In the Ruhr area, the Oktoberfest format has spawned offshoots in Bochum, Essen, Hamm, and Düsseldorf — but the Dortmund format, with its own Festbier (Kronen) and the prominent location at Revierpark Wischlingen, is one of the most established.
