The municipality of Tiefenbach in the district of Landshut is located about 15 kilometers west of the city of Landshut in a landscape of fields, meadows, and forests. With just under 4,000 inhabitants, the municipality is spread across several districts, including Appersdorf, Ast, Binsham, Ehrnsdorf, Gleißenbach, Heidenkam, and Mittergolding. The village festival is a central occasion where residents from all these districts come together.

Pentecost Sunday as a Fixed Date

In 2026, the village festival will take place on Pentecost Sunday, May 24th, in the center of Tiefenbach. Pentecost is a traditional festival date in the predominantly Catholic region of Lower Bavaria: after the Pentecost service, families gather, the weather is usually mild, and summer and club life slowly get going. The village festival fits perfectly into this setting.

Organization by the Mittergolding Volunteer Fire Brigade

The organizer is the Mittergolding Volunteer Fire Brigade, one of the active local fire brigades in the municipality. As with many Lower Bavarian village festivals, the event also serves as an important fundraising occasion for the fire brigade and an opportunity to involve the population in the club.

Program and Atmosphere

The village festival begins on Sunday morning at 11:00 AM and continues throughout the afternoon into the early evening. It offers:

• Morning pint (Frühschoppen) with live brass music from a regional band
• Hot lunch from the festival kitchen (roast, dumplings, Lower Bavarian specialties)
• Coffee and homemade cakes from the afternoon onwards
• Children's program with games, a bouncy castle, and craft activities
• Draught beer from regional breweries and cold drinks
