Uckermark Village Festival Tradition

When the Dorffest Gramzow begins, a region where traditional village community life still thrives comes together: the Uckermark. Gramzow is the main town of the Amt of the same name in the Uckermark district – a rolling terminal moraine landscape with forests, lakes, rolling hills, and villages where people still know each other personally. The annual village festival on the festival grounds by the open-air stage is the central summer event.

Date and Location 2026

The 2026 village festival will take place on Saturday, June 6, 2026, starting at 2 PM at the festival grounds by the open-air stage in Gramzow. Organizer: Amt Gramzow. The program will be coordinated by the Amt and local clubs in the weeks leading up to the event – stage performances, children's program, catering. Free admission.

Open-Air Stage as the Centerpiece

The Freilichtbühne Gramzow (Gramzow Open-Air Stage) is the logistical heart of the festival. Dance groups, children's choirs, music clubs, and a live band in the evening perform here. Around it, stalls from various clubs – from the fire department and sports club to the local history society – offer food and drinks, including bratwurst, steak, homemade cakes, and beverages. The atmosphere is familial and relaxed.

Gramzow — Gateway to the Uckermark

Gramzow has around 1,700 inhabitants and is located about 100 km northeast of Berlin, halfway between Prenzlau and Schwedt. Worth seeing in the town itself: the Gramzow monastery ruins (a medieval Premonstratensian monastery), the Brandenburg Agricultural Museum, and the Uckermärkische Seen Nature Park just outside. Those who combine the village festival with a weekend trip can experience traditional village culture alongside Brandenburg's brick Gothic architecture and lake landscapes.
