One Mountain, Three Wine Regions

The Donnersberg in the Donnersbergkreis, at 687 meters, is the highest mountain in the Pfalz and forms a prominent point on the border of the three major German wine-growing regions: Nahe to the north, Pfalz to the south, and Rheinhessen to the east. This geographical position makes the Donnersbergkreis a unique crossroads of wine culture and diverse soils and climates.

14th Edition of the Forum

The Donnersberger Weinforum was launched in 2013 to showcase this geographical peculiarity as a cultural and oenological theme. With its 14th edition in 2026, the forum has established itself as a fixture on the region's event calendar. Vintners, sommeliers, and wine lovers from all over Germany gather for the tasting.

19 Vintners and Their Wines

In 2026, 19 vintners from the three growing regions will participate. They will present their characteristic wines – Riesling, Burgundy family, Silvaner, Müller-Thurgau, Spätburgunder, Dornfelder, and other varieties. The diversity of soils (Buntsandstein, Muschelkalk, volcanic rocks, clay) and climate zones will be palpable in the wines. Visitors can conduct comparative tastings and thus discover the peculiarities of the three regions.

Weingut Bremer as the Venue

Weingut Bremer in Niefernheim (district of the municipality of Zellertal) is a renowned winery in the region and an ideal venue for the Weinforum. The premises offer space for tasting booths, culinary accompaniments, and discussions between vintners and wine lovers. The culinary exploration tour complements the tasting with regional specialties that pair well with the wines.
