A Town Becomes a Concert Stage

The Dömitz Music Night is a 'Wandelkonzert' (moving concert) format: six bands play at six venues in the old quarter of Dömitz, with each band performing multiple times a night for 45 minutes on the hour. The audience decides their own order of visits — a mix of concert experience and city stroll that has delighted regulars and newcomers alike since its inception.

Genre Mix from Rock to Electronic

The musical spectrum ranges from rock and pop to electronic and dance music. Each band represents a distinct style, allowing attendees to experience six different musical worlds in one evening. The venues are typically the central squares and pubs in the old quarter — the church, market square, courtyards, and local establishments.

Dömitz on the Elbe

Dömitz is located in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district (state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern), directly on the Elbe river, on the border with Lower Saxony. With just under 3,000 inhabitants, the town is small but boasts a significant history as an Elbe fortress — the Renaissance fortress Dömitz is one of the region's most important architectural monuments. The organizer of the Music Night is the Initiative LuK (Leben und Kultur) e.V., which has organized the format for years in close cooperation with the Dömitz Tourist Information.
