Dieter Bohlen is one of the most defining figures in German pop history. With Modern Talking from 1984 onwards, he achieved worldwide success. With Blue System, he pursued his own project from 1987. In recent decades, he has produced countless artists in the German pop and Schlager scene. His Summer Open Air 2026 uses this career as a starting point, bundling 25 No.-1-hits into one concert evening.

Seven-Piece Live Band

Bohlen will be accompanied by a seven-piece live band that recreates the original productions of the hits with full stage power. This clearly distinguishes the concert from playback-oriented Schlager shows and offers a full live experience with a drum kit, bass, guitars, keyboards, and backing vocals.

Festwiese Bentheimer Eisenbahn as the Stage

The Festwiese of Bentheimer Eisenbahn AG is one of the largest open-air venues in southwestern Lower Saxony. For the Capitol Summernight, it will be equipped with a main stage, grandstand areas, standing room areas, several catering zones, and pre-stage choreography to professionally frame the concert experience.

Day Two of a Festival Weekend

The concert is part of a three-day festival weekend that began on August 14 with the Mallorca Open Air and concludes on August 16 with the Markus Krebs Open Air. Those wishing to attend all three days can find festival passes on pre-sale.

25 No.-1-Hits

The concert program includes the most important Modern Talking hits — from "You're My Heart, You're My Soul" to "Brother Louie" and "Cheri, Cheri Lady" to "Geronimo's Cadillac" — and the classics from the Blue System era. The concert thus covers more than two decades of German pop history.
