58th edition of the Dienheim Carnival Parade on Carnival Saturday with an after-parade party with DJ Bulle Ulle
The Dienheim Carnival Parade is one of the classic carnival parades in Rheinhessen. The 58th edition in 2026 marks a remarkable continuity: since the late 1960s, Carnival Saturday has been celebrated in Dienheim, the small wine village south of Oppenheim, with a colorful parade.
Dienheim is a traditional wine-growing community in the Mainz-Bingen district, located on the Rhine between Oppenheim and Worms. Carnival, like throughout Rheinhessen, has a long tradition here, and the carnival parade is the biggest social event of the year in the village.
The parade starts punctually at 1:11 PM – the carnival time with double eleven – at the Dienheim sports field. From there, the route leads through the town center of the wine village. Participants include carnival clubs from Dienheim and the region, associations, schools, kindergartens, and private groups. Floats, walking groups, music bands, dance troupes, and masked figures create a colorful spectacle. Classic "Helau" echoes through the streets, and sweets and small gifts are thrown into the crowd.
Following the parade, starting around 3 PM, the After-Parade Party begins at the sports grounds. DJ Bulle Ulle provides the atmosphere with classic carnival hits and current dance music. Stands and tents offer bratwurst, steaks, fries, Rheinhessen wine, and beer. The party often continues into the evening and is considered the social highlight of the Dienheim carnival season.
The Dienheim Carnival Parade is an authentic piece of Rheinhessen carnival culture. It represents the close bond of the village community, the intensive participation of associations, and the carefree atmosphere of a small but lively carnival in southern Rheinhessen.
The 58th edition in 2026 confirms the continuity of this traditional carnival event. Starting punctually at 1:11 PM, the parade begins at the sports field and leads through the town center of Dienheim. Carnival clubs, local associations, schools, and private groups participate with creative floats and costumes.
After the parade, the festive community moves back to the sports grounds, where DJ Bulle Ulle hosts the after-party. Catering includes classic carnival dishes and Rheinhessen wine.
