About Toten Hosen Bostalsee

After a three-year break, arguably Germany's most famous punk rock band returns to Bostalsee: Die Toten Hosen will play two sold-out open-air concerts on August 21 and 22, 2026, on the festival meadow at the Bostalsee leisure center, with supporting acts ranging from Sondaschule and Thees Uhlmann (Friday) to LaBrassBanda and Deine Cousine (Saturday). Tour: „Trink aus! Wir müssen gehen“ — announced by Campino as possibly one of the last major stadium tours.

Punk Rock by St. Wendel Lake

Bostalsee in the district of St. Wendel, with its 120 hectares, is the largest recreational lake in Saarland — and has been a popular venue for major open-air concerts for years. In 2026, the festival meadow by the lake harbor will transform into a pilgrimage site for the German rock community for two days: Die Toten Hosen return after a three-year break with their tour „Trink aus! Wir müssen gehen“ and will play two full open-air shows on August 21 and 22, 2026. Both dates are sold out.

The Tour of the Decade?

Campino and his Düsseldorf crew have designed the tour as a statement: over 560,000 tickets were sold in the first three hours, and the stadium in Düsseldorf sold out in three minutes. Due to enormous demand, additional shows were scheduled in Cologne, Munich, Luxembourg — and at Bostalsee. A small sensation for Saarland: outside of major cities, the region rarely experiences concerts of this magnitude with an internationally recognized headliner band.

The Festival Meadow: A Venue with History

The festival meadow at Bostalsee can hold tens of thousands of visitors and has hosted artists like Pur, Rammstein-adjacent acts, Rock am Bostalsee, and festivals like fill in Open Air in recent years. The stage will be set up on the southern shore of the lake, with the lake behind the fans and the stage in front — a postcard backdrop for concert photos. Campsites, caravan pitches, and the Center Parcs Park Bostalsee are right next door; many fans combine the concerts with a short break in the Saarland's Hunsrück foothills.

Supporting Acts: A Mini-Festival in Themselves

Die Toten Hosen have curated a unique supporting program for each evening:

  • Friday, August 21: Sondaschule (Ska-Punk from the Ruhr area) and Thees Uhlmann & Band (Indie songwriter, formerly Tomte)
  • Saturday, August 22: LaBrassBanda (Bavarian brass music-punk combo), Deine Cousine (Berlin rock songwriting), The Leftovers

So, those who arrive early won't get a half-hearted 'warm-up,' but effectively a mini-festival.

What to Expect

A classic Die Toten Hosen show, as has been standard since the 80s: two hours of live set spanning their repertoire, from „Alles aus Liebe“ and „Hier kommt Alex“ to new songs from their latest album. Pyrotechnics, an devoted audience, stage diving, and guest appearances are not out of the question. Tour motto: a wink at their own finitude — Campino has hinted that the band might slow down, but has not announced a definitive end to their career.

Around Bostalsee in Saarland

The northern Saarland region around Bostalsee offers hiking, water sports, the Globushaus on Astropeiler mountain, and the nearby Edelsteinstraße (Gemstone Route). Those staying for several days can combine the concert with an excursion to the St. Wendel Cathedral, the Schaumberg in Tholey, or the Saarschleife (Saar Loop) near Mettlach (45 min drive).
