A Delmenhorst Institution
The Spring Market has been a firm fixture in the city calendar for generations. Originally a market for trading goods, the event has evolved over time into a large funfair that attracts tens of thousands of visitors from Delmenhorst and the entire region every spring.
Parade on Saturday
The parade to kick off the event on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 2 PM, is a colorful spectacle with floats, marching bands, clubs, music groups, and creative costumes. The parade starts at the municipal stadium on Düsternortstraße and winds its way through the city to the fairground. Applications for floats are accepted via the city administration.
Prize Money for the Most Creative Entries
Two prizes of €500 each will be awarded: one for the most beautiful float, and one for the best stage presentation. The awards were established to recognize the voluntary commitment of the clubs and the creative design of the parade entries.
Nine Days of Funfair Fun
From April 18 to 26, carousels, roller coasters, swing ships, and classic rides will be in full swing on the Graftwiesen. Shooting galleries, lottery sellers, stalls selling sweets and candied almonds, as well as a wide selection of food and drinks, ensure a folk festival atmosphere for all ages.
Open Shopping Sunday
On Sunday, April 19, the shops in Delmenhorst's city center will open their doors from 1 PM to 6 PM. Those who didn't miss the parade on Saturday can combine Sunday with strolling, shopping, and another visit to the funfair.
Spring Market — edition 2026
The 2026 edition continues the long-standing tradition of the Delmenhorst Spring Funfair. The program combines the festive character of the parade with the exuberant folk festival atmosphere on the Graftwiesen.
Families will find a wide range of attractions, from the children's carousel to the roller coaster, along with candy stalls and food. Adults will also get their money's worth with shooting galleries, classic games, and cozy catering tents.
