Grand community festival with bouncy castles, Aerotrim, stage program, and celebratory service for the anniversary year
Linkenheim-Hochstetten is a twin municipality in the Karlsruhe district, formed in 1975 from the merger of the two previously independent villages of Linkenheim and Hochstetten. The "Das Grüne Band" Children's and Family Festival continues the tradition of local community festivals that repeatedly revitalize the municipality's shared sense of identity — with a special emphasis in the anniversary year that the municipality celebrates in 2026.
The TVH sports grounds on Nebenbruch offer space for everything that makes children's hearts beat faster: eleven inflatable bouncy castles of various sizes, the Aerotrim — a rotating structure that simulates the feeling of weightlessness (for children aged eight and up) — as well as play stations, hands-on activities, and a climbing tower. Parents can find shaded refreshment areas on the festival grounds with food and drinks from the club kitchens.
The stage program is put on by the actors of village life: kindergartens present their rehearsed dances, schools perform plays and choirs, and music clubs play brass band music. The twin municipality of Linkenheim-Hochstetten has around a dozen active clubs — from TV Hochstetten and the fire department to church youth groups — and nearly all of them are represented at "Das Grüne Band".
A special feature of the festival is the spiritual pavilion, which is managed by the Linkenheim-Hochstetten parish communities throughout the weekend, as well as the ecumenical celebratory service on Sunday morning at 10 a.m. on the festival grounds. Thus, "Das Grüne Band" combines secular entertainment with the traditional role of the church communities in village life — a typical element of traditional Baden festivals.
On May 19, 2026, the Turnverein Hochstetten 1904 e.V., in cooperation with the Linkenheim-Hochstetten community association and the church communities, invites you to the "Das Grüne Band" Children's and Family Festival at the TVH sports grounds on Nebenbruch. The festival is part of the anniversary year of the twin municipality Linkenheim-Hochstetten.
