The Damme Pottery and Crafts Market looks back on over 40 years of history. Since the mid-1980s, Kunst+Kultur-Kreis Damme e.V. has invited potteries, ceramic workshops, and craft businesses to Damme on the first Sunday in September. With its 42nd edition in 2026, the market is one of the oldest continuously held craft markets in the Oldenburger Münsterland region.

Scheune Leiber and Volksbank as Market Backdrops

The historic Scheune Leiber and the courtyard of the Volksbank together form the distinctive market backdrops. The old half-timbered building of Scheune Leiber offers a sheltered setting for the exhibitors, while the Volksbank courtyard provides additional space for the rows of stalls. Both locations are connected by the pedestrian zone in the town center, creating a cohesive market experience.

Around Fifty Exhibitors

A curated selection of around fifty potters and craftspeople from Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Bremen, and Hamburg present their workshops. The range includes classic stoneware tableware, artistic ceramic objects, garden ceramics, jewelry, felt, glass, wood, and textiles. The quality of the selection has become a hallmark over the years, attracting a discerning audience of collectors and connoisseurs.

Raffles and Culinary Offerings

A special feature is the two raffles at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.: exhibitors provide works for the raffle, which are drawn among the visitors. Culinary offerings from Damme's gastronomy, as well as club stands with coffee, cake, and food, complete the program. The market day is a Sunday opening, and local retailers complement the offerings.
