Saalfasnacht of the CVP in the Festhalle Pirmasens
The 1. Carneval-Verein Pirmasens is one of the traditional carnival clubs in the region. With its Prunksitzung in the Festhalle, the CVP continues the format of the classic Saalfasnacht, which is cherished in many Palatinate and Baden towns. The session is a fully planned stage program with 'Bütt', dance, music, and a strict session flow, as required by carnival dramaturgy.
A particular strength of the CVP session is its opulent dance program. More than 150 'Gardemädels' and show dance groups from Baden and the Palatinate participate in the session. This exceptional participation makes the evening a true parade of the regional dance scene and guarantees spectacular show acts.
In addition to dance, the 'Büttenreden' are the traditional core of every Prunksitzung. Local personalities and guest speakers comment on the world, the city, and club life with the humor typical of the 'Bütt', in rhyme and in the Palatinate dialect. Musical contributions — from party bands to solo performers — complement the program.
On February 8, 2026, the day after the Prunksitzung, the CVP 'Kinderfasnacht' takes place in the same Festhalle. The club thus creates a complete weekend for Pirmasens carnival enthusiasts of all generations — from the little ones in costumes to the tradition-conscious carnival-goers.
The 2026 Prunksitzung follows the CVP's proven format. The Festhalle Pirmasens, as the city's central venue, provides the appropriate setting for the Saalfasnacht. The club has been designing the program for years with a high standard for dance and stage presence.
The exact program for 2026, including the order of 'Bütt' contributions, dance groups, and show acts, will be announced by the CVP in advance. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years: entry of the 'Garden', welcome by the committee presidency, alternating contributions from 'Bütt' and dance, main speaker, and session finale.
Detailed program and order of performers will be communicated via cvp-online.de before the event.
