Vintage car meet and cultural weekend in the Bavarian Rhön
For over two decades, the Culture and Oldtimer Days Stockheim have been a fixture in the event calendar of the municipality of Stockheim in the Rhön-Grabfeld district. On the TSV sports grounds on the edge of the village, vehicle owners and technology enthusiasts meet for a weekend that combines mobility history, craftsmanship, and Franconian conviviality.
Motorcycles, tractors, and automobiles up to the 1996 model year are exhibited and driven. Pre-war vehicles and 1980s youngtimers are also welcome, so the range extends from aged farm tractors to sporty sedans. Dedicated parking spaces below the main grounds with marshals and overnight accommodation on the TSV grounds are available for exhibitors.
From 9 a.m. on both days, a market with vintage car parts, flea market, and handicraft stalls begins. On Saturday, a guided tour for cars and motorcycles through the picturesque Rhön starts at 10 a.m. and lasts about an hour. Sunday is dedicated to relaxed socializing: lunch and refreshments from midday, followed by a vehicle presentation around 1 p.m.
The Rhön not only shapes the festival scenically. Stockheim is located in the far north of Bavaria, near the border with Hesse and Thuringia, and sees the Oldtimer Days as a contribution to preserving regional culture. Franconian specialties, coffee, and cake ensure culinary well-being, while families and technology enthusiasts alike get their money's worth.
Admission is traditionally free for both visitors and vintage car owners. This keeps the festival an accessible event that connects generations and strengthens community life in rural Rhön-Grabfeld.
