Pride in the UNESCO World Heritage City
The CSD Regensburg is the Christopher Street Day of the city of Regensburg, a district-free city in the Upper Palatinate region of Bavaria. The parade leads through the historic Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, past St. Peter's Cathedral and the world-famous Stone Bridge. This impressive backdrop makes the Regensburg CSD a special event among Bavarian Pride events.
Demonstration for Equality and Visibility
Like all Christopher Street Days, the CSD Regensburg follows the tradition of the Stonewall Riots of 1969 in New York and advocates for the rights, acceptance, and visibility of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and queer people. The demonstration is both a political statement and a joyous celebration.
Colorful Accompanying Program
In addition to the main parade, a diverse accompanying program is part of the CSD: concerts, workshops, and parties in the Old Town complement the demonstration march. The Regensburg CSD places great importance on a family-friendly atmosphere and sees itself as an open festival for all generations.
Integral Part of City Life
Organized by Queeres Regensburg, the CSD has become an integral part of Regensburg's city life, attracting thousands of people to the Old Town every year. It is embedded within an entire Pride Month with numerous events such as drag shows, picnics, and community gatherings in June.
