About CSD Trier

CSD Pride Trier is the city's annual queer demonstration and celebration — a political manifesto for the rights of LGBTIQ* people and, at the same time, a large street festival in the World Heritage City. The parade starts at the Porta Nigra and winds through the city center. Afterwards, the Pride Village is set up in the Palastgarten — with information stands, an artist stage, discussion formats, and catering. The event concludes with the Pride Party at Mergener Hof. Motto 2026: “Our Pride Fights for Rights".

CSD Trier is part of the nationwide Christopher Street Day network, which, in memory of the Stonewall riots of 1969, brings the visibility and rights of queer people into public space every year. In Trier, CSD has developed into a firmly established event over the years, attracting both the local queer community and numerous allies, political representatives, and guests from the greater region (Saarland, Lorraine, Luxembourg).

The parade starts at 12:30 PM at the Porta Nigra and proceeds through Trier's city center — past the Hauptmarkt and across the central squares of Trier. Afterwards, the Pride Village opens at 2:00 PM in the Palastgarten — the historic palace garden between the Kurfürstliches Palais and the Kaiserthermen. Here, counseling centers, queer associations, political groups, and initiatives present themselves with information stands; bands and solo artists perform on the artist stage, and discussion formats address current political issues. From 10:30 PM, the event moves to Mergener Hof for the official Pride Party.

The 2026 motto — “Our Pride Fights for Rights" — sets a clear political emphasis and responds to the growing threats to queer rights in the international context.
