Early Summer in the City Centre
Crivitz is located in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, about 25 km east of Schwerin. With just under 4,500 inhabitants, the town is manageable – and that's precisely why the annual Crivitz Children's and Town Festival on the central market square feels so intense: On this weekend, the entire city centre fills with people, stage music, and club stands.
Warm-Up on the Eve
The festival weekend begins on Friday evening with a warm-up on the market square. Live bands or DJs create the atmosphere; the relaxed start functions like a collective toast to the main festival day. Saturday then sees the actual town festival, which lasts from morning until late into the evening.
Town Run, Stage, and Clubs
Programmatically, the festival combines several strands: a town run for amateur runners through the city centre, a children's program with games, hands-on activities, and possibly a bouncy castle, a stage program with music and dance on the market square, a club mile with stands from local clubs and institutions, and in the evening, a disco for adults. The mix of sports, family activities, and a dance evening makes the Crivitz Town Festival an inclusive event – everyone from seniors to schoolchildren finds their place.
Crivitz Town Festival — edition 2026
The 2026 edition opens on Friday evening, May 29, at 7:30 PM with the warm-up on the market square – a relaxed start with music and socializing that kicks off the actual town festival. On Saturday, May 30, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM, the family festival begins with the full program.
The town run starts in the morning; concurrently, the stands of the club mile and the children's program open. Throughout the day, the stage features a succession of live music, dance groups, and show acts. In the evening, an adult disco takes place on the market square. Getting There
By car via the B321 from Schwerin or Parchim, follow signs to the market square/city centre in Crivitz. Parking is available on the outskirts and in adjacent streets. By train to Crivitz station, from where it's a short walk to the city centre.
Admission
Access to the market square and the daytime program is free. A moderate admission fee may be charged for the evening disco – details will be announced on the website of the Amt Crivitz.
Tip
Those coming with children should plan the morning and early afternoon for the children's and family program. The town run requires separate registration, which will be communicated in good time on the event page.
