Advent Atmosphere at the Historic Manor Farm

The Domäne Oeslau in Rödental is one of the most beautiful venues in the Coburg region. On the first weekend of Advent, the historic manor farm, with roots dating back to the 16th century, transforms into a Christmas market to "see, hear, smell, and taste." The organizer is the town of Rödental, with the mayor traditionally opening the event.

What the Exhibitors Offer

At the charmingly sized market, regional exhibitors present everything that belongs to the festive pre-Christmas season: handmade Christmas decorations, dolls, plush toys, wooden toys for children, basketry, and Christmas tree ornaments in all imaginable sizes. In addition, there are roasted almonds, mulled wine, steaming galettes and crêpes, coffee and cake, bratwurst, wild boar sausage, and fish sandwiches.

Program for the Whole Family

Friday opens with a spectacular fire show. On Saturday and Sunday, a petting zoo awaits the children. St. Nicholas visits on Friday at 5 PM and on Sunday from 3 PM to 4 PM, while the Christ Child visits the market on Sunday from 2 PM onwards. Live music accompanies the market on all three days.

Rödental and the Coburg Christmas Land

Rödental is part of the Coburg Christmas Land, an initiative by the district of Coburg that connects numerous Advent markets between Coburg, Neustadt bei Coburg, Bad Rodach, and Rödental into an experience network. The market in Oeslau is one of the most atmospheric because the backdrop of old stone buildings creates a special ambiance – family-friendly, regional, without mass crowds.
