Light-adorned Christmas market in Haßloch with over 30 stalls, Palatinate mulled wine, and festive lighting on Advent weekends
Haßloch is the largest municipality in the Palatinate region and boasts a correspondingly vibrant event scene. During Advent, the town center becomes a landscape of light – the Christmas Market of 1000 Lights provides the stage for this atmosphere. Unlike the very large Christmas markets in major cities, Haßloch is manageable – making the market a relaxed family destination.
The market offers over 30 stalls. About half feature arts and crafts and gift ideas – ceramics, glass, jewelry, felt and textile work, wooden toys, candles, Christmas decorations. The other half serves Palatinate and Christmas classics: Palatinate mulled wine, white mulled wine, children's punch, Saumagen, Bratwurst, Reibekuchen, Flammkuchen, crêpes, chestnuts, candied almonds, Palatinate gingerbread.
A special feature of Palatinate Christmas markets is the mulled wine made from regional wine. In Haßloch, Palatinate Riesling and Spätburgunder are processed into mulled wine – a clear qualitative difference from the industrial mulled wine found at many mass markets. In addition, there are white mulled wine variations, sparkling wine punch, and for children and non-drinkers, non-alcoholic punch.
The light concept, which gives the market its name, is re-staged each year. Fairy lights span the squares, stalls are decorated with stars, fir wreaths, and lamps, and large fir trees with elaborate lighting stand at central points. The atmosphere, especially after dark, is one of the market's strengths.
The 2026 edition will maintain the proven format: a light-adorned Advent market with over 30 stalls, focusing on Palatinate mulled wine and arts and crafts, open throughout the Advent weekends.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in late autumn. The structure will follow the established key points of previous years.
