Schlossfestival 2026 – Day 1
The Celler Schlossfestival is the major open-air series in the Celle Castle courtyard and once again brings together prominent acts in 2026 against the unique backdrop of Celle Castle. The opening on Friday, July 10, 2026, features a double act from two currently significant bands in the German-language metal scene: Hämatom and Engst.
Hämatom – Mask Metal with Theatricality
The Bavarian band Hämatom combines hard metal with a mask concept, theatricality, and a high-energy stage show. With albums like “Wir sind Gott", “Echte Helden", and “Berserker", the band has built a loyal fanbase and regularly tours throughout Germany.
Engst – Melodic Modern Metal
The Berlin-based band Engst, fronted by Matthias Engst, plays a distinctive mix of modern metal, post-hardcore, and songwriter depth. With German lyrics and melodic choruses, Engst has been one of the most exciting bands in the scene between mainstream and metal underground for years.
Castle Courtyard as an Open-Air Stage
The castle courtyard, surrounded by the historic castle facade, offers an extraordinary concert atmosphere. The natural acoustics of the enclosed courtyard, the medieval-early modern backdrop, and the relatively manageable audience space create a special experience – for both fans and the bands.
