The Bünzer Gilde
The Bünzer Gilde is the village community of all residents of the Aukrug district of Bünzen. It is self-governed by an elected board and organizes the important village dates: the Gildefest in summer, the joint Christmas tree setup in Advent (since 2009 in cooperation with the volunteer fire department), the Grünkohl-Abend (kale evening) at the beginning of the year at Landhof Looft Böttiger, and other volunteer activities.
The Gildefest — the annual highlight
The Bünzer Gildefest traditionally takes place on the last Saturday before the major Schleswig-Holstein summer holidays — in 2026, this is June 27th. The daily schedule follows a fixed pattern: in the morning, the festive parade starts from Detlef-Breiholz-Weg through the village to the sports field. From 3:00 PM onwards, games for children and adults begin there — skill competitions, small tournaments, and joint activities that involve all generations.
Donations and Volunteering
The entire Gildefest is organized exclusively on a voluntary basis by the Gilde team and relies on donations. As the current chairwoman Caro Walthemathe emphasizes: “The Gilde team relies on donations so that this festival can continue to take place for all children from Aukrug in the future." Aukrug-Bünzen in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district
Aukrug is a municipality belonging to an administrative district in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district, founded in 1969 by the merger of the four villages Innien, Homfeld, Böken, and Bünzen. Despite the merger, Bünzen has preserved its village identity and maintains its own unique date with the Gildefest — an example of how local identity can remain vibrant even after municipal reforms.

The Gildefest 2026
As every year on the last Saturday before the Schleswig-Holstein summer holidays, the Bünzer Gilde invites you to the village festival in 2026. In the morning, a parade will go through the village, followed by game stations, small competitions, and refreshments at the sports field.
The Gilde Team 2026
The current board consists of Caro Walthemathe (Chair) and Anna-Lena Dreyer (Treasurer). The festival team has been organizing the program for months and relies on the support of donations and volunteers from the village community.

Saturday, June 27, 2026 — Aukrug-Bünzen
- 2:00 PM — Festive parade from Detlef-Breiholz-Weg through the village

- Skill stations, tug-of-war, sack race, egg-and-spoon race
- Face painting and small competitions for the youngest
