Twelve-day spring market festival in downtown Fürth
Fürth, a city in Middle Franconia in the state of Bavaria and part of the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region, has a rich tradition of city festivals. Among the most characteristic is the Bunter Markt, which enlivens the Dr.-Konrad-Adenauer-Anlage in the heart of the city for twelve days every May. Located right next to the Fürth weekly market, a three-minute walk from the main train station, this colorful festival area connects generations.
The festival program is deliberately broad: Reggae concerts with internationally renowned artists such as Milk&Sugar or Ganjaman alternate with cabaret evenings, daytime children's activities, an open-air church service, and performances by regional bands. A special attraction is the miniature exhibition, which will be on display for railway and model building enthusiasts from May 11th to 14th.
Market stalls offering handmade products, culinary specialties from Middle Franconia, and stands with jewelry, fashion, and home accessories line the area around the central stage. The adjacent weekly market additionally offers fresh seasonal products from the region: asparagus, strawberries, flowers, and much more. The beer garden atmosphere with Franconian brewery beers and hearty cuisine makes the Bunter Markt a popular meeting place after work.
The Bunter Markt attracts thousands of visitors from Fürth, Nuremberg, and the entire metropolitan region every year. Admission is free, and the program is organized by the City of Fürth in cooperation with local showmen and organizers. Family-friendliness, regional roots, and the central downtown location make the market a firm fixture in Fürth's event calendar.
Fürth, the third-largest city in the Middle Franconia administrative region, is known for its well-preserved Wilhelminian-era architecture, its vibrant Jewish history, and its famous landmark, the Fürth Cloverleaf. A visit to the Bunter Markt can be ideally combined with a city tour through the historic old town, which has been completely restored in recent years.
The Dr.-Konrad-Adenauer-Anlage is located in the immediate vicinity of Fürth's main train station (three minutes' walk). Fürth can be reached in a few minutes by subway from Nuremberg (U1). Several multi-story car parks are available in the city center, as well as numerous bicycle parking spaces.
The 2026 edition of the Bunter Markt continues the traditional concept: twelve days of spring atmosphere in the heart of Fürth with live music, market stalls, and a family-friendly supporting program. Confirmed acts include Milk&Sugar and Ganjaman, who will provide reggae-tropical vibes. In addition, cabaret, a children's program, an open-air church service, and the popular miniature exhibition (May 11th-14th) are announced. The adjacent weekly market and the numerous beer garden stalls make the festival area a popular meeting place after work. Admission is free, and the market is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Admission to the Bunter Markt is free. Food and drinks at the market stalls are priced individually. Individual special events, such as cabaret concerts, may require separate tickets.
