New Concept from 2026
The Bürgerfest Nittenau enters a fundamentally revised edition in 2026: a new festival grounds around the Kirchplatz and the garden of the Haus des Gastes, a new three-generation program. The city of Nittenau is thus responding to the citizens' wish for a festival core in the city center instead of on the outskirts.
Main Stage, Backstage, and DJ Stage
The musical program is spread across three stages — Main Stage, Backstage Stage, and DJ Stage. Live bands such as the Big Band of the Regentalgymnasium Nittenau, the Wolfsegger Partyband, Flashlight, Guiterrorists, and Die Jokers shape the festival evenings. On the DJ stage, Kubus M provides electronic sounds.
Day of Town Partnerships
Saturday is entirely dedicated to the theme of town partnerships: Delegations from the Czech partner town Přeštice and the friendly Hessian town Biblis will come to Nittenau and, together with Nittenau groups, will present a varied program — sports, music, and folk dances. A friendly football match at 2 p.m. and the Bavarian All-Around Competition with international participation starting at 4 p.m. mark the sporting focus.
Nittenau in the Regental Valley
Nittenau is a town in the district of Schwandorf (AGS 09376), located on the southern edge of the Oberpfälzer Wald on the Schwarze Laber and Regen rivers. With its Regentalgymnasium and several medium-sized companies, the town is a regional center between Regensburg and Roding.
A Volksfest in the Town Center
With the revised concept, the Bürgerfest moves into the town center. Kirchplatz and the Haus des Gastes garden together form a contiguous festival area that is accessible on foot and is better integrated into urban life than the previous festival site on the outskirts. This makes the 2026 Bürgerfest the start of a new festival format in Nittenau.
Bürgerfest Nittenau — edition 2026
The 2026 Bürgerfest in Nittenau spans three days and for the first time uses Kirchplatz and the garden of the Haus des Gastes as the central festival area. Three stages — Main Stage, Backstage Stage, DJ Stage — run in parallel.
Friday opens with the tapping of Nittenau beer by horn blowers at 6 p.m. This is followed by the Big Band of the Regentalgymnasium (6:30 p.m.) and the Wolfsegger Partyband (9 p.m.) on the Main Stage. The Backstage Stage program starts earlier at 3:45 p.m. with dance and music students, and Flashlight takes over from 7 p.m.
Saturday is dedicated to the town partnerships with Přeštice (Czech Republic) and Biblis (Hesse). A friendly football match at 2 p.m., followed by the Bavarian All-Around Competition with international participation from Přeštice and Biblis starting at 4 p.m. On the Main Stage from 4 p.m. there will be brass music, and from 8 p.m. the Guiterrorists. Kubus M will be on the DJ Stage.
Sunday begins with an ecumenical festival service at 10 a.m. in the church, followed by a morning pint with the Nittenau City Band. In the afternoon, there will be dance performances by various groups. From 5 p.m., Die Jokers will play for the festive closing, with the festival ending at 9 p.m.

- 10:00 AM: Ecumenical Festival Service in the Church
- Following: Morning pint with the Nittenau City Band

- Play activities in the museum and at the festival grounds for children
- 5:00 PM — Main Stage: Die Jokers (Festive Closing)
- 9:00 PM: Festival End
