Bavarian Beer Festival of the Bruck Youth Association in the Gailling district
The Brucker Bierfest is a comparatively young invention of the Bruck Youth Association, whose origins date back to the 19th century. In 2024, the association celebrated its 135th anniversary with a multi-day youth festival, from which the annual beer festival emerged. 2026 will see the third edition on a Saturday in May: a down-to-earth village festival, as has been celebrated for generations in Upper Bavaria's Ebersberg district.
The venue is the Gailling district of the municipality of Bruck (postal code 85567), located southeast of Munich between Glonn and Aßling. Its location at the foot of the foothills of the Alps and in the transition to the Chiemgau region gives the festival its typical Bavarian character: meadows, farms, a handful of houses, and a clubhouse that becomes the center of the community this weekend.
The musical accompaniment is traditionally provided by the Glonner Musi, a local brass band from nearby Glonn. People eat, talk, and dance – without grand show productions, but with the relaxed conviviality that characterizes small village festivals in Upper Bavaria. "Reindlessen" (a traditional baked dish) is only available by pre-order, emphasizing the family-friendly size of the festival.
Behind the beer festival is the Youth Association, which is dedicated to the "preservation of tradition as well as convivial and decent entertainment." The chairman is Josef Kaltner. In addition to the beer festival, the association organizes the Maypole raising every four years, the annual Christmas tree auction on January 1st in the sports hall, and the Pentecost festival with "Kesselfleisch" (a pork dish).
The third Brucker Bierfest follows the proven recipe of its predecessors: brass music, beer, snacks, and Bavarian conviviality. The festival is organized by the Bruck Youth Association, which has continued the annual format since the 135th-anniversary celebration in 2024.
The musical accompaniment will once again be provided by the Glonner Musi, a brass band firmly rooted in the Ebersberg district.
In addition to classic festival fare (sausages, roast chicken, "Brotzeit" platters), the traditional "Reindlessen" will again be available by pre-order in 2026 – a Bavarian stew cooked in a "Reindl" (pot), emphasizing the connection to home cooking. Pre-orders will be processed via the association's section in the community magazine "Die Brücke" (issue 158).
Exact times will be published by the Bruck Youth Association in the community magazine "Die Brücke" issue 158 and on the association's Facebook page. As of May 2026, the exact times are still pending.
