Tribute Open Air with music from the 60s to today in Schleswig
Schleswig, in the state of Schleswig-Holstein, the district town of Schleswig-Flensburg, is one of the most historically dense small towns in Northern Germany, with its location on the Schlei and its connection to the World Heritage Site of Haithabu. In the summery Königswiesen city park — the same park where the Wikingertage (Viking Days) take place in August — the Traumland Open Air has been establishing itself as a free tribute festival since 2024.
The festival consistently focuses on tribute bands from all over Europe. Instead of expensive originals, bands are hired who perfectly master the repertoire of their idols — and thus bring the sound of an era to an open-air stage. For 2026, the motto is "Back to the 60s", with the musical program revolving around the spirit of the late 1960s. Confirmed acts are:
Additional acts will come from the circle of European tribute bands that tour at festivals of this kind.
The festival is completely free of charge — a deliberate decision by Point of Music GmbH, who conceived the festival as a cultural gift to Schleswig and its guests. Free admission, free access to the city park, food and drinks available from stalls on site. Families, tourists from the Haithabu Viking Museum, and local residents mingle in the summer atmosphere on Strandweg.
The 3rd edition in 2026 shows that the concept has become established. The festival complements the region's summer cultural offerings and, with its open-air stage on the edge of the historic Viking town — just a few hundred meters from the Schlei — is part of the cultural renaissance that has been shaping Schleswig in recent years.
The 3rd edition of Traumland Open Air 2026 opens its gates from 4:00 PM in the Königswiesen city park on Strandweg in Schleswig. For several hours, tribute bands will perform on the open-air stage under the motto "Back to the 60s". The organizer is Point of Music GmbH from Eckernförde.
