19 weekends of club activities between May and September at Maudacher Bruch – Palatinate summer tradition in western Ludwigshafen
The Bruchfeste Maudach are unusual in their structure: instead of one large, continuous event, it is a series of 19 consecutive weekends, each managed by a different club, parish, or political organization from Maudach. Each weekend thus has its own character – with its own club cuisine, its own stage program, and its own audience from the circle of the organizing club.
Throughout the season, clubs such as the AWO Maudach, the German Red Cross, SV Maudach, SC Alemannia, FC Arminia, the Lions Club, KAB Maudach, SPD Maudach, the Protestant Parish, and many others take over the festival catering. This diversity reflects the vibrant club life of the district and makes the Bruchfeste one of the liveliest volunteer-run event series in Ludwigshafen.
On the Bruchwiese, you'll find classic Palatinate summer cuisine: Saumagen (stuffed pig's stomach), Bratwurst (fried sausage), Leberknödel (liver dumplings), Fleischkäse (meatloaf), fries, Palatinate wine, beer, and Schorle (wine or juice mixed with sparkling water). Each club brings its own specialties – sometimes a suckling pig, sometimes homemade cakes, sometimes Palatinate specialties according to family recipes. On weekdays, the Bruchwiese is also continuously open for catering and is popular with cyclists, walkers, and after-work guests.
The Maudacher Bruch is one of the most important recreational areas in western Ludwigshafen – a former floodplain of the Old Rhine with meadows, small forests, walking paths, and nature reserves. The Bruchfeste are so closely linked to this natural area that a visit can be ideally combined with a hike or a bike tour.
The exact weekend assignments of the clubs and daily program highlights will be published on the club website maudach.de and via the initiative bruchfeste.de. Participating clubs include AWO, DRK, SV Maudach, SC Alemannia, FC Arminia, Lions Club, KAB, SPD, and the Protestant Parish Maudach.
The exact 2026 program will be published continuously. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years:
