Punk Rock by the Lake
They've been on stage for over 30 years, released four number-one albums, and played for hundreds of thousands of fans: the Düsseldorf band Broilers are among the most influential bands in the German-speaking punk rock scene. After a two-year tour break, they are returning in 2026 with an open-air series – making a stop at Bostalsee in Saarland on Saturday, August 29, 2026. The Festwiese am Bostalsee (festival meadow at Bostalsee) in Bosen-Nohfelden, in the heart of the St. Wendel district and just a few steps from the sandy beach of the largest leisure lake in Southwest Germany, will serve as the open-air arena.
About the Broilers
Founded in 1992 in Düsseldorf, the band has spent years cultivating a sound that combines the aesthetics of Oi! and 80s punk with pop, rock, and ska elements. The result: recognizable anthems like "Ruby Light & Dark," "Meine Sache," or "Faust in der Tasche," massive sing-along concerts, and a loyal fanbase that follows their bands for decades. Frontman Sammy Amara is a live phenomenon in himself with his stage presence and his pronouncements.
Support: Swiss & Die Andern
Swiss & Die Andern have been confirmed as special guests – the Hamburg-based crossover formation around rapper Swiss, known for their mix of hardcore punk, hip-hop, and indie rock. The combination promises an open-air event with high energy and a stylistically broad audience of classic punk rockers, a younger crossover crowd, and the music-loving Saar region.
Bostalsee as a Concert Backdrop
The Bostalsee, with its approximately 120 hectares of water surface, is the largest leisure area in northern Saarland and belongs to the municipality of Nohfelden in the St. Wendel district. The festival meadow is located on the eastern shore of the lake and has been used repeatedly for large open-air concerts and events in recent years. For concertgoers, this means: wide lawns, a lake in the background, and – if the weather cooperates – a spectacular sunset during the main concert.
Organizer
The local organizer is Popp Betriebsgesellschaft mbH (Popp Concerts), one of the established concert organizers in Saarland, which regularly holds open-air shows in the region. Tickets are available via the official band website, Eventim, and all well-known advance booking offices.
