About BRIMBORIUM Horn
BRIMBORIUM Horn — edition 2026
The 2026 edition is a premiere in the summer slot – more daylight and longer market hours. The Bardensprung agency builds on the proven concept of previous years: nine encampments on the castle meadows, a market in the courtyard, a stage with established medieval bands, and a dramatic arc spanning the afternoon and evening. The Lippisches medieval band Seinerzeit will present a new piece titled "BRIMBORIUM" in 2026.

Horn Castle – A 14th Century Setting
Horn Castle is a lowland castle in the Horn district of Horn-Bad Meinberg, with its core dating back to the 14th century. The Lippisches castle, once the administrative seat of the Counts of Lippe, has largely retained its characteristic layout with a moat, keep, and courtyard. The BRIMBORIUM medieval market takes place annually in the courtyard and on the adjacent meadows – an event that has become established in the medieval scene of Ostwestfalen.
What Awaits You at BRIMBORIUM
Bardensprung – the event agency behind BRIMBORIUM – focuses on a careful mix of market, camp life, and live program.

- Mock combat and camp life – sword fighting, archery, daily routines of the historic camps

2026 – First Time in June
A special feature of the 2026 edition: BRIMBORIUM moves from its usual November date to June – more daylight, warmer weather, longer festival time under the open sky. With the dates June 12–14, the festival becomes the early summer medieval market on the OWL calendar.
Horn-Bad Meinberg in the Lippisches Region
Horn-Bad Meinberg is located in the Lippe district, in the Lippe Uplands at the transition to the Teutoburg Forest. With the Externsteine monument, Horn Castle, and Bad Meinberg as a historic spa town, the town with its 17,000 inhabitants has gathered an astonishing amount of world and cultural history in a small area.
