The association Blues in Nottuln e.V. has made Nottuln one of the most important blues locations in West Germany for years. With a concert series of top-class national and international blues acts, the format has attracted a loyal audience from Nottuln, Münster, the Münsterland region, and beyond. The concert series is a permanent fixture of the Nottuln cultural calendar.

Saturday, February 21, 2026 — Vanja Sky

Croatian-Austrian Vanja Sky is one of the most interesting blues-rock guitarists in Europe in recent years. Her blend of classic blues, modern blues-rock, and her expressive stage presence has made her an international touring act.

Saturday, April 18, 2026 — Nick van Delft Group

Dutch bluesman Nick van Delft with his group – authentic blues-rock from the Netherlands with decades of stage experience.

Saturday, June 20, 2026 — The Heart & Soul Blues Brothers Show

A premium-class Blues Brothers Show: all the classics from the iconic films, plus other soul and R&B hits. A popular blues format that attracts a broad audience.

Saturday, September 19, 2026 — The Blues Bones

The Belgian Blues Bones are one of the most established blues-rock bands in the Benelux region – multiple studio albums, international festival appearances, hard electric blues with influences from the Chicago school and modern American blues-rock acts.

Saturday, October 10, 2026 — Hootin' the Blues with Michael van Merwyk

German blues veteran Michael van Merwyk presents with his project "Hootin' the Blues" a homage to the tradition of acoustic and electric country blues – a concert for connoisseurs.

Monthly Blues Sessions

In addition to the major concerts, Blues in Nottuln e.V. organizes monthly Blues sessions with changing special guests. The format is open – any blues musician can join in, the standard is high, and the atmosphere is focused. These sessions are the backbone of the local blues community and a showcase for emerging young musicians.

Nottuln in Münsterland

Nottuln is a municipality with around 20,000 inhabitants in the Coesfeld district, located in western Münsterland. The town is known for its historic Stiftsbezirk (collegiate district) with the late Romanesque collegiate church of St. Martinus – one of the most impressive sacred buildings in Münsterland. Nottuln benefits from tourism thanks to the Hohe Mark – Westmünsterland Nature Park and its location between Münster (25 km) and Coesfeld (15 km).

Blues in Nottuln Association

The Blues in Nottuln e.V. association organizes the concert series on a voluntary basis. Members curate the program, organize venues (often the Kulturhalle or the Schützenhalle, depending on the concert size), and handle sponsorship and PR. This makes the association one of the most active independent blues associations in Germany.
