Bispinger Heide-Schützenfest

Schützenverein Bispingen von 1910

The Schützenverein Bispingen von 1910 e.V. is one of the traditional clubs in the Heath municipality of Bispingen, located between Soltau and Hamburg in the west of the Lüneburg Heath. Over a hundred years of club history are reflected in the festival weekend, which attracts not only members but also numerous guests from the surrounding Heath communities and holidaymakers.

Three Days of Festival Program

The Bispinger Heide-Schützenfest is celebrated over three days – Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Friday opens the weekend from 2 PM with fanfares and a beer tapping. The musical program runs until 10 PM. On Saturday, the festival grounds open again at 2 PM and are open until 3 AM – the highlight is the big disco in the festival tent. On Sunday, the program begins at 2:30 PM with the proclamation of the new Schützenkönig (Shooting King), followed by a brunch and a family program that lasts until midnight.

Shooting Tradition and King's Proclamation

Sunday is the day of shooting tradition. After the shooting competitions of the preceding days, the new Schützenkönig is proclaimed. The Queen, Adjutants, and Children's King are also presented and honored. Afterwards, a brunch is served in the festival tent, which also serves as a meeting point for club members and their families.

Disco Saturday

Saturday evening is considered the musical highlight for the younger generation. A live disco or a hired DJ system provides dance music until 3 AM. Admission is included in the three-day ticket, which is available for 42 Euros.

Bispingen as a Venue

Bispingen is conveniently located directly on the A7 motorway between Hamburg and Hanover. The municipality is known as a tourist destination in the Lüneburg Heath and is home to, among other attractions, SnowWorld and the Wildpark Lüneburger Heide. The Schützenfest benefits from the tourist influx and regularly attracts guests from outside the region.
